2024 Toyota HiLux GR Sport priced from $73,990

Toyota Australia has detailed and priced its forthcoming HiLux GR Sport flagship ute superiority its local launch superiority of its launch in September.

The 2024 Toyota HiLux GR Sport is priced from $73,990 surpassing on-road costs, which makes it the most expensive version of the top-selling ute to be sold locally. It’s $3230 increasingly expensive than the recently updated HiLux Rogue.

As previously reported, the HiLux GR Sport is powered by a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 165kW of power and 550Nm of torque. This makes it the most powerful diesel-powered HiLux ever.

The turbo-diesel engine is mated to a six-speed will-less transmission that’s been tuned to support the uneaten power and torque, with momentum sent through a part-time four-wheel momentum system.

The HiLux GR Sport sits on the same “wide-track” platform as the HiLux Rogue, with a 15mm increase in height and a track width increase of 135mm at the front and 155mm at the rear.

There’s variegated front whorl and rear leaf spring tuning that remoter differentiates the GR Sport from the rest of the HiLux range. It’s moreover equipped with KYB monotube shock absorbers with a larger piston diameter.

The rear sway bar has moreover been removed, which allows for greater trestle voice and ground contact over uneven surfaces.

The HiLux GR Sport comes with unique woebegone 17-inch “Dakar style” transfuse wheels that are wrapped in 265/65 R17 Bridgestone Dueler all-terrain tyres.

There are disc brakes on all four wheels, with 338mm x 28mm four-piston stock-still calipers at the front and 312mm x 18mm single-piston floating calipers at the rear. They’re moreover painted red.

At the front there’s a redesigned bumper that improves the tideway wile compared to the cadre HiLux range, and has new fog lamp bezels and a silver lower moulding that sits whilom a uniquely ripened skid plate for uneaten underbody protection.

There’s moreover a unique woebegone mesh grille contrasted with Toyota lettering and a GR badge.

Around the side there are large woebegone wheel wily flares, designed to unbend the wider track width and which moreover incorporate aero ducts at the front.

There are moreover powder-coated heavy-duty waddle rails made from 2mm thick steel that help protect the door sills and vehicle underbody.

At the rear there are red recovery points, a woebegone rear bumper finish, and a pre-installed towbar, towball and trailer wiring harness.

Inside the HiLux GR Sport gets a “rally-inspired” leather-wrapped steering wheels with paddle shifters, red centre strip and a GR logo.

Other interior highlights include unique front sports seats that are upholstered in a mix of leather and suede, red seat belts, aluminium pedals, “Technical Mesh” dashboard ornamentation, GR Sport shift lever, all-weather floor mats, and a nine-speaker JBL sound system.

The Toyota HiLux GR Sport will be offered in five exterior paint colours. These include the following:

  • Glacier White
  • Frosted White
  • Stunning Silver
  • Eclipse Black
  • Feverish Red

Glacier White, Frosted White and Feverish Red are moreover misogynist with the option of a black-painted roof.

Toyota Australia says full specification details for the HiLux GR Sport will be spoken closer to its local launch in September.
